Greater Nevada Credit Union is a financial cooperative that has served Nevada consumers since 1949. As northern Nevada’s largest credit union, Greater Nevada has nine branches (including an educational branch at Carson High School) serving around 46,000 members. Anyone living or working in northern Nevada is eligible to join and access a full range of financial products and services designed to help members “Live Greater.”
What led you to Reno/Tahoe?
Speaking of living greater, I moved from Silicon Valley to the beautiful Reno/Tahoe area in 1996 for my husband’s job. I worked in marketing at Caesars Tahoe from 1996 to 1999 before starting my career at Greater Nevada. Today I oversee all marketing, advertising, and public relations for both Greater Nevada Credit Union and Greater Nevada Mortgage. My favorite thing about the Reno/Tahoe area is the overall quality of life, as well as being close to other nearby destinations.
Tell us about your background as it relates to marketing.
I majored in mass communications with an emphasis on public relations and have a BA from the University of South Florida. I’ve worked on both the corporate and the agency/consultant side, with industry experience that spans healthcare, technology, gaming, tourism, and financial services. I belong to several professional organizations and am also an active community volunteer. In fact, I’ll soon be participating in the Special Olympics Polar Plunge at Lake Tahoe, an annual event in which Greater Nevada Credit Union has participated for several years.
