Tell us about your company.
I work for Microsoft on the Advertising Operations team here in Reno. The Advertising Operations team supports Microsoft’s Advertising customers and partners across Search (Bing), Display and Publisher advertising spaces. I specifically work on the publisher team focused on supporting developers using our platforms to monetize their Windows 8 and Windows phone applications through advertising. I enjoy the mix of working with internal business and engineering teams as well as external customers and developers on a day to day basis.
Tell us about your background in marketing.
I studied marketing as my minor in college and fell in love with the field. My first “real” job out of college was working at the ad agency McCann Erickson Kenya in the client service/accounts department. I enjoyed working on creative campaigns, strategy and helping clients meet their marketing and advertising goals.
What led you to Reno/Tahoe?
I was born and raised in Nairobi, Kenya and came to Reno to attend Graduate School 7 years ago and have never left! I’ve been so blessed by this community and all the wonderful people I have met here over the years.
What is your favorite thing about the Reno/Tahoe AMA?
I love the Marketing Workshop. I had a really great time last year, the speakers were great, the information was very relevant and I got to meet and network with so many great people in the Reno-Tahoe marketing community. I’m really looking forward to it this year!
