Why did you become involved in the AMA?

I was very involved in the collegiate chapter and really enjoyed everything that was involved. I was on the collegiate board and loved the case competitions. When I moved back to the Reno area it felt natural to get involved again and become a member of the stellar marketing community here.

What about marketing most interests you?

I love the variety that marketing has to offer. One day I will be designing a website, the next day I am putting together promotions, and the next day I am executing a trade show. You truly have to use your left and right brain to be an effective marketer and the challenge is what keeps me going. It’s always different, interesting and engaging, and I love that.

Tell us about yourself and what you do.

I am the marketing manager for a Canadian company that creates and distributes electronics accessories. We have our own brands that we develop with our design team in Taiwan and partner brands that we represent in Canada. I market these brands to retailers and in the case of our own brands, to end users. After I graduated from UNR I moved back to Toronto to be closer to family. After about 4 years, my husband and I decided that Reno was actually where we wanted to be and moved back. We love it here and are very happy to be laying down roots.

What is your favorite thing about Reno/Tahoe?

I would say my favorite thing about this area is the natural beauty. I am an outdoors person and the number of beautiful places to hike, kayak, fish and camp is amazing. We are so lucky to be so close to the mountains, Lake Tahoe, and so much forest. There are a lot of things I love about Reno; the community feeling, how easy it is to access everything, the growing food scene, it’s hard to pick a favorite!
