About our speakers:

reno marketing brandingColleen Dalton has been at the forefront of destination, hospitality and travel marketing for more than 20 years. Colleen’s background includes working as marketing executive for several of the nation’s top ski resorts and lodging properties, including Northstar California, Mammoth Mountain Ski Area, Resort at Squaw Creek, and Reno’s Silver Legacy. She currently serves as the Brand Communications Director for the Truckee Chamber of Commerce. Colleen holds a BS in Communications, and an E-MBA in emerging technology. Colleen’s special interests include all of the many activities Truckee has to offer such as climbing, riding, trail-running and skiing.

Colleen will be speaking about the journey of identifying the Truckee Brand (a process commonly referred to as “Place-Based Marketing) the first time in the history of a mountain town established in 1866. Dalton worked with local government, the private sector, and the community to garner as much input in the process as possible to nail the Truckee Brand’s core values, greatest strengths, voice, tone, attitude and personality which are now reflected in a new Truckee.com focusing on visitation, locals and business development. Learn how locals embraced the process and how the Brand is rolling out today. Joining Colleen will be Scott Keith of Keith Design Group, brand agency who guided the process.

Keith Design Group is a Truckee-based company with creative team members throughout California. As the lead creative strategist, Scott works as an advisor to build brand platforms for new brands and develop creative strategies to grow established brands.  Scott’s most memorable brand experience was being a part of the Pure Digital startup team that created the Flip Video brand that was acquired by Cisco.  Today, much of his work is concentrated in the connected devices and healthy living products. Working with the Truckee Public-Private Partnership was a unique opportunity to bring his innovative brand marketing approach to a new category while digging deeper into tourism and destination marketing. Today, KDG works with a loyal clientele of leading brands including Cisco, Nike, TRX, and Annie’s Homegrown – as well as emerging brands like Achievers, Breathometer, Kinsa, Chronos, and Soraa.
