Lily Bird provides a subscription box that helps midlife women tell their bladder who’s boss. Why? Because bodies change and bladders leak. 1 in 3 women experience bladder leaks but only 1 in 10 use products due to the shame and embarrassment. It’s high time we stop saying sorry for the spritz.

Role Summary

This is a high-autonomy, creative, entrepreneurial role in which you will own our customer acquisition. Your primary objective is to grow the Lily Bird customer base with high quality customers. Secondarily you will focus on increasing the lifetime value of our existing customers.

We are a small team so you’ll do a bit of everything. For example:

Define marketing strategy (with approval from company founders)
Manage the agency that does our paid advertising
Manage and optimize other existing channels (e.g. email, Amazon, content, etc.)
Get creative in experimenting with new channels and methods of growing the business
Data analysis. We are highly data-driven! We want you to be constantly measuring, learning, and optimizing.
Create and manage campaigns across channels
Deeply internalize our brand personality and voice to ensure everything we do is on brand
Generate new ad creative
You will work very closely with one of our company founders, a part-time member of the team, and even our website developer and designer.

Here’s What You Bring


Are analytical and a structured thinker. You have a propensity to ask a lot of questions (often hard ones), pay attention to details, and to use data to make decisions
Are good at distilling a large amount of information into the most important pieces
Are comfortable with ambiguity and are adaptable. You don’t want or need to have all the “rules” for how we do things spelled out in a handbook
Are creative both in the traditional sense and in thinking outside of the box. You don’t do things a certain way just because they’ve always been done that way.
Your bias is for action and impact, not perfection. You move quickly and are not afraid to get your hands dirty to get the job done. In Lily Bird lingo, you “bus your own plate.”
Enjoy working independently, solving problems autonomously, and having a lot of responsibility
Enjoy learning new things and having every day be a little different
Can be relied upon to do what you say you will (not doing so will be the fastest way to piss off your manager)
Can be scrappy and judicious with a budget. Money doesn’t grow on trees. (We *really* want to hire you if you’ve figured that one out).
Have excellent communication skills, both written and speaking
Major bonus points if you are based in either Reno or Louisville
Ideally you have checked most of the boxes below during your 5+ years of experience in acquisition/growth marketing.

Experience with:

Digital advertising, especially Facebook
A variety of channels (i.e. you’re a “full stack” marketer)
Email marketing
A/B testing
Agency experience
Demonstrated ability to scale a customer base
Working in a small, scrappy start-up environment
Tracking full-funnel metrics, A/B testing, and campaign analysis
We’re looking for a Jack or Jill of all marketing trades. At least several years of your career have been in e-commerce and you’re no stranger to growing a customer base. You’re great a setting strategy but also love rolling up your sleeves to do the work. You likely have deep experience in paid digital advertising and broader experience in a variety of other channels, too. Maybe you got that experience working at an agency or maybe you learned everything from your boss, the VP of Growth. You definitely love data and metrics. And did we mention that you’ve grown a customer base once or twice before?
