Hello AMA members and potential members,

As president of the Reno-Tahoe American Marketing Association, I want to express my gratitude to the professionals, businesses, and partners that contribute to the success of our organization. This board year started on an unanticipated path in July as we quickly adjusted to virtual events, new work-life balance, and a changing board year. Yet, we have seen many opportunities to build from our discomfort and growing pains. We have also reflected on both social change and changes in social situations, to help build a better chapter and local marketing community.

I am grateful for our dedicated board of directors and volunteers who stand strong in commitments to each other and our chapter – even as our personal lives, careers, and dreams steer us in many directions.

Our goal this year is to grow through connections in our community and reinforce the foundation on which our chapter was built. For more than 30 years, the Reno-Tahoe AMA has brought marketing and communications professionals of all backgrounds together for career excellence. We have tested new ideas, stretched the norm, and engaged with topics and speakers worth sharing. As marketers around the world are adapting quickly to change, new ideas are coming to light and we strive to be on the forefront of sharing them with you.

I encourage you to become an active member with the Reno-Tahoe AMA. There are more resources than ever at our fingertips. As we shifted to virtual events, more out of market speakers and connections became easily accessible and are featured in upcoming luncheons. Our national chapter launched weekly membership perks for all levels of marketers, built a machine-learning daily newsletter catered to your personal interests, hosted free virtual master workshops, changed membership pricing, and much more. It has always been a privilege of our board to meet professionals from across the globe at regional and national events, but as we shifted to online networking there are more opportunities to meet AMA members in larger and smaller markets across the country. The only real challenge with participating with AMA is making the decision to allocate time and invest in ourselves.

Our chapter is looking to you as seasoned professionals to share your expert knowledge, and to you, our new practitioners for your ideas and passion for growth. We can continue to create a dynamic and diverse chapter and local marketing community.

Tackling each day with the utmost enthusiasm,

Lindsey Tromerhauser
